I've been going back and forth on getting a ~1/4 sleeve to cover up a tattoo I got during a youthful moment of rash decision. I've had the image in my head for a few years, even got a price from the artist I decided to do it.
It's a squid going up the back of my arm with a few tentacles wrapped around my shoulder. I have spent many hours on the webs looking for a decent picture/layout and found a few.
Of course now that I have the money for it, I find out that squids/octopi are the damned hip thing for kids to get. Damn you hipsters! _________________ I have a face, with a mustache.

So apparently there's this hipster girl in Bolton and ... wait, first she's a true hipster, she listens to bearsuit and everything AND yes hipster girl in Bolton of all the fucking places ... So right she has a tattoo of the word 'tattoo'.
So what imma do, right, is take a picture of her arm to a tattoo parlour and say, yo, THIS. And then I'll have a tattoo that is a picture of a tattoo of the word tattoo and it will be more Meta than an edition of McSweeneys printed on the back of a PBR label made from recycled editions of McSweeneys.
Of course not. _________________

Who gives a shit about what other people think is cool. If you think a squid is awesome and have had it in your head for a few years, just fucking get it. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

What others think is cool can easily affect whether or not you want something, especially something that you are living with forever. Its not like hes changing his order at a restaurant.
Coincidentally I have a buddy who just got a squid(kraken) tattoo. It looks really good but I wouldn't get a tattoo of something that a close friend has, let alone something that I feel identifies with people I dont like or don't want to be associated with. _________________ "I am the enemy," was the reply. Someone array should draw a Last Supper version of the forum. I'd have that tattooed on me. It would never not be cool.
I'd have Hadley as my Jesus. Because, well, cool guy, shit beard. _________________

True story, last time I was in New York I saw a hipster with a handlebar mustache tattooed onto his upper arm. _________________ "Whatever afflicts thee, their asses I shall kick"

Hipster or homeless can be a fun game to play, but a mustache tattoo is a dead giveaway that they are, in fact, a hipster. _________________ "Whatever afflicts thee, their asses I shall kick"

Only thing I could see doing is my family crest. Because 1) yes, we have a family crest, known from the days of heraldry and 2) I'm too indecisive to get anything else - the crest isn't going to change.
Also I grew my mustache long enough to wax and curl into a proper handlebar once. Reveled in it for a little while, then trimmed it to a more reasonable level. First, I think my whiskers really don't take to being waxed, because it was surprisingly difficult. Second, hipsters turned me off the idea. I liked the look (very oldschool), but the current popularity killed the appeal. Also, you know, conservative work environment. _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

There's a server at the bar we go to on payday after work with a mohawk and handlebar mustache. I don't know his name. We call him Handlebars. He seems to like it. _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth.
