In the UK the ruling Labour party use a red rose as their symbol. The Conservatives use a blue flaming torch (because they love rude jokes, homosexuals and The Fantastic Four comics).
The elections being discussed were, of course, the European Parliment elections, where the parties cram into broad coalitions, presumably using different symbols and colour schemes (largely red / blue, swastika / hammer & sickle). |
well, the cards he was putting down on the tart to show how much of it was what party there were things like that. one was a blue heart outline (well, it looked like a heart), one was a red rose, there was another florally one, and then the small parties just had logos with initials. which is probably why they are small parties - they lack cool logos. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

| There is an Italian party that has a hand holding a rose as it's logo. Not quite sure what they stand for though, our translation of the party name goes somewhere along the lines of "radical socialist liberals", with a 'lacti' thrown in somewhere, though we're at a loss as to what that word means. |

That was our first guess as well, but that brings up a whole lot of new question.
Well, actually only one, what is milk doing in a party name.
" Were radical socialist liberals, but most important of all, we drink milk !!" |

from here
I don't know, is this the most verbiage laden, meaningless piece of strategy-speak ever?
The topic under discussion is how TMZ (LA based, Jackson obsessed) broke the news of Michael Jackson ahead of 'proper' news sites like, say, associated press.
What follows is a genuine blog comment on the story. No hint that it's a piss take.

this just proves that traditional media is dead and citizen journalism and new mediascapes of that ilk are the way forward.
steve ballmer was 100% correct with his predictions the other day.
we have to get out of the silo mentality and into the cross-media strategising forward movement.
this includes the monetisation of sticky functionalities in order to orchestrate ubiquitous channels.
if we dont do this how can we expect to revolutionize synergistic vortals?
At the end of the day, the coming years will see a focus on enabling dot-com networks to let their brand strategic systems incubate 24/365 markets.
if this doesn't happen, i can't see how 'the media', in its purest sense, can ever hope to enhance dynamic communities. |
what the what now? _________________

I don't read newspapers. I used to buy the ny times every so often, but there's nothing there I can't get somewhere else, for free. I think all the big syndicates should go under, really. the little ones too. local news is ridiculous tripe. I'm all about public radio and crosswords bound into volumes of a 200 or more. _________________ ... |

I should really re-style this thread BBC vs Murdoch.
Recent, hilarious, fucked up:
Sunday Times Makes 'Lesbian' Joke About BBC Reporter. 'Apologises'.
AA Gill is the guy on the porch who makes remarks about the 'nancys' and 'darkies' walking into his town. Fuck him. The Sunday Times editorial team aught to know better. _________________

Daily, yup. Quality going down everywhere with very few still holding up. Is it a rearguard battle or regroup and rebound?. I'd vote for the first; even online versions are more "Human Interest" than anything else recently.
Weekly?. I'd wouldn't be so fast about them. _________________ Meu aerobarca esta cheoi de enguias |

I refer you to the works of Akroyd, Murray, and Ramis. _________________ 88 NPH |

Long time ago, this thread should have been necro'd.
ANYWAY!
Phone Hacking: Herp Derp Yo
Not only aware, but discussed and approved. Quelle surprise. Or as they say in France, 'you'll be admitting to it in cinq minutes, non?'
| Quote: | | "This practice was widely discussed in the daily editorial conference, until explicit reference to it was banned by the editor." |
The editor in question being NotW editor Andy Coulson, and hey whatever happened to him?
| Quote: | | The claims are acutely troubling for the prime minister, David Cameron, who hired Coulson as his media adviser on the basis that he knew nothing about phone hacking. |
For those new to the story, hey how was that vacation under that rock? and Yes They Did to hacking murder victims phones to see what messages of condolence might be sent and also then deleted those messages and also applied for a fucking job under said murder victims name because hey that'd be a story. Also they fucked with Paul McCartney, and when Andrew hears about that, man ... Andrew will get proper mad. _________________

The end of that article was hilarious. Name calling hissy fits are ten times funnier when they're between professionals. |
