Um not just that, people who loved the series want everyone to know that the 'thing' that shamalama-ding-dong put out there isn't the same as the series they fell in love with. _________________

1. Katara is white, not tanned. [Like in the cartoon]
2. Azula is tanned not white. [ditto]
2. Zuko is also tanned not white. [again ditto]
And I don't know if I'm wrong or mislead that I heard Toph was going to be in the second movie, if they make the second one that is, and will be a boy not a girl.
Okay, sure the Producer/ Director cannot go and copy every little detail from the cartoon to the movie cause it will cost money but still...come on... |
Yeah, somewhere WAY back in this very thread Sam talks about how the movie turns the story into a tale of 'good light-skinned people vs. bad brown-skinned people'. _________________

| I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say but for what it is worth I see nothing that convinces me that a sequel is expected or even likely. The Devil trailer's public response showed that Shyamalan's brand stickiness is in absolutely god-awful territory. What studio, after barely pulling even on the budget output of Last Airbender, is going to expect the same people to respond in the same numbers to the post-viewing associations? |

Well, it grossed $319,123,021 but cost $280,000,000 (they spent like $130,000,000 in advertising) so I guess it wasn't a total loss financially...

You have to factor in that studios only take about half the gross. So if they spent 280m and only grossed 319m they're still pretty deep in the hole. _________________ I couldnt think of anything smart to say. |
