The University of Missouri team says that the batteries hold a million times as much charge as standard batteries. |

Yeah, but no one on the team is actually from Misery. _________________ Scire aliquid laus est, pudor est non discere velle

| Is that radiothermal or betavoltaic? |

| I'd imagine it's a betavoltaic device as it relies on a semiconductor capture medium. |

I figured, just wanted to be certain that the BBC wasn't confusing the Seebeck effect for betavoltaic, since you can use semiconductors in those too and both are used with nuclear power sources to convert waste products (heat for one, electrons in the other) into useful electricity.
I was under the impression that the Seebeck effect was used more often, even in the pacemakers it mentioned, so when they said "Most nuclear batteries..." it threw me off. |
