He's not, really. It's the largest island not a continent in the world, and it's a possession of Denmark, therefore making it part of Europe.

Everyone knows that Australia is the largest island continent in the world, but very few people know that it's only so large because we have been faking Western Australia for hundreds of years. We just draw it on other people's maps, and no one checks.

Politically, yes, but as we were discussing continents, the more pertinent classification is that it is on the continent of North America. I mean, it's like saying (before the late nineties) that Hong Kong was the European city with the most Chinese. It's disingenuous. |

While not physically accurate, it is politically accurate, and therefore Michael's statement about winning pub bets is true. that's all I was saying. I'm not getting into the continental drift.
