I'm having trouble figuring out this statement. I was commented on what I thought was a disagreement between you and mouse, with mouse saying "new variants need to be entering the gene pool, and this doesn't seem to be the case with prions". I said, "hmm, maybe new variants are entering", thereby disagreeing with mouse.
So, let's turn our attention to the Highlord. He is glad when people don't disagree with him when he is wrong. I thought he was implying that I am "not disagreeing" with mouse even though she is wrong. Since I am disagreeing with mouse, that interpretation must be wrong. Maybe the comment is about himself? He is saying he is wrong, but I agree with in being wrong as well? That actually is the most logical parsing of the statement, since it is clear I was disagreeing with mouse about if new variants enter the gene pool. I guess I disagree with the Highlord that I don't disagree with him being wrong.
Hey mouse, just got back from the Plant & Animal Genome conference in lovely San Diego. Sorry to not look you up again... had meetings with clients the whole time. |

It was a swipe at the tone that mouse was taking with E-boy and me, contrasted with her appreciation of your intelligent (which I interpret as a euphemism for less belligerent) contribution, as opposed to our dumb ass contribution. The hyuk hyuk is the key part, really.

I can't speak for what's between you and mouse but as far as I'm concerned the tone she took with me was a sort of gentle reminder to read her F***ing post. Naturally she put it more nicely than that. I am embarrassed to say I had only skimmed her posts to that point, something I acknowledged at the time.
Also I rather liked the cutsie names she called me.

Oh, there's nothing between us, the tone just seemed to very quickly become sour due to a perceived slight from not reading her posts, even though I did, I just disagreed with her despite her explanation. So it goes.
