Dear sporko,
I'm sure we could acquire a uniform like that for you, in exchange for a promise by you to model it.

So, I showed a few guys your picture, and the one of the outfit you posted.
I've collected enough to buy you a dozen versions of the outfit, and a first class ticket to come model them.
Unfortunately, that would leave me a little short of enough for the Matterhorns, too. _________________ The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Maybe you should only buy one version of the outfit, then. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Yeah, but the guys don't want her to fly over here to model Matterhorns.
Unless, ya' know, it was just the Matterhorns. _________________ The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

I now present to my beloved Sinfest, the final BaladCon pictorial.
Phar gave us a tour of his job here on Balad. He works on the water filtration systems, so that everyone can stay nice and clean.
We start out in one of the Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU). These are what do the actual water filtration.
Here we have the initial filter tank:
This is the secondary filter:
A pump!
The green tubes you see here are the Reverse Osmosis Filters:
Moving outside we see the very organized piping system:
The beautiful water tower that is not used because the piping has a little thing we like to call asbestos:
Now for the sexy modeling part of our adventure.
Don't mess with Phar!
Jinx and smeat with their sporks!
Smeat gives the spork a little lovin!
And that concludes the final BaladCon. It has been a good run, but it is now over. We are sooo outa here! _________________ Allowed to live by the good graces of Deleted, Shh.

Yes, we were trying to channel the spirit of sporko at the Final BaladCon.
I think smeat was a little too into the idea.

And, FTR, we do have eyes. We just keep taking these pictures facing into the afternoon Iraqi sun. Squinting is practically mandatory. _________________ The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

um...is that water tower camouflaged, or are those little puffy clouds painted on it?
and i know it's not a desert and all - but where is the water coming from? one of the rivers? or what other sorts of water sources are there? _________________ aka: neverscared! |

There are several water sources within theater. Most commonly used is the Tigriss River. We utilize the local canal system to provide raw water for our water purification units. However, on the occassion when they decide to shut down the canal (Instance number 1. the canal operator wanted more money...the colonel showed him a picture of the canal gate and his home taken from an Apache...then asked which one needed to be "addressed utilizing air support efforts" ....Instance number 2 ...someone threw a couch into the middle of the canal to block it up.....Instance number 3....someone blew up an oil pipeline and a huge "slicker" was making its way through the canal system....Instance number 4-20...just because they wanna) we also have wells that provide high TDS water. (salt water)
Urban Legend is that the first company came through and painted it that color in an effort to have this area called "Camp Hawaii." More than likely it's the keen Iraqi fashion sense. |

Channeling sporko seems like a good idea to me- how you can be "too" into it? Love the pics. And definitely envious of Phar's nipples. |

I am pretty sure that you are referring to the picture of you that Jinx is using as an example pose, why do you hate that picture? _________________ Allowed to live by the good graces of Deleted, Shh.
