i DVRed it...? sorry. i know that doesn't help.

Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed the premiere, and I sure hope Fox doesn't kill it prematurely like they did with Firefly(my all-time favorite show).

I see it as a more sci-fi version of La Femme Nikita with a little Dark Angel on the side, both of which I also really enjoyed.

What I didn' see much of in this episode was the trademark Whedon humor, but I'm sure that will come as the series establish itself more firmly. If we're lucky. hah.

I taped it ... I also set my TV to come on at air-time, but it didn't work (I forget to actually mark it "on" when I was finished).

Oh well, I'll watch it later.

Yes, it is currently on Hulu. Rewatching now, since I missed the first half last night.

EDIT: okay, it's better seeing all of it at once, as expected. It just... doesn't have enough of Whedon in it (at least yet). Basically the only glimmer of him I could really see was Wash-lite (the mind eraser guy). And, well, he seems like Wash-lite, which just makes it seem glaringly apparent that Alan Tudyk would be so much better.

I still have fairly high hopes for the series, but it's only looking okay, thus far. They've certainly set up a few interesting threads.

apparently there were a lot of rewrites and whatnot to please the suits at Fox before the premiere, so i figure Whedon had to tone himself down a bit to get the show off the ground. hell, even Buffy took a little bit to really find an identity and establish what we know as "Whedonesque," ya know?

but yeah, it's set things up to have all sorts of cool stuff happen as the series progresses. i just hope Fox doesn't fuck it up like they did with Firefly.

I can't help but think that this is the reason why we aren't seeing a full helping of Whedon's style right in the first episode; Firefly was killed off because it was not popular with what Fox calls the American People. And I suppose someone recognizes Whedon's talent, otherwise I can't imagine Fox picking up another show of his, so hopefully we'll see that either the show is going to grow into its humour, or the show is going to be in a more serious vein, and we'll have to wait a while for Joss to find another project in which to inject his serious comedy.

I havent heard anything about it either. Don't get much TV at the moment.

I was (am) a huge firefly fan. I'll shamelessly admit to watching an occasional Buffy because of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Never got into Angel tho.

Although about the whole Fox business, I think someone from NBC took over management sometime after Firefly was canceled. So it's different people who have him back on.

why did you stop halfway? which point?

it was SO good. i have the song stuck in my head, and i already can't wait for the next episode. Very Happy

i'll probably rewatch it later with some friends. make my dollhouse fan-crew.

mouse: the basic premise of the show is an illegal organization that erases people's personalities and refills them up with pertinent personalities in order to execute particular cases for their millionaire clients. perfect people for particular scenarios, basically. and theres a whole house full of these people who are empty cases until their brains are rewired for a task. wee!!

I liked it. It's so good in fact I think that Fox will probably cancel it sooner than anticipated!
