I like how Criminy's dressing and even combing his hair more loosely than his earlier appearances --> click here for "bowtie-era-Crim".

You're...you're using THE DEVIL as an example of people who want to burn in a lake of fire.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaay...

***

Some people don't believe that there is a lake of fire.

And, oddly enough, even after 2000 years or so, no one has ever proven that there is.

But if it makes you feel better to believe that there is, please go right ahead. I would never tell someone what their religious beliefs "should" be.

Incidentally, to claim that the Bible "proves" that there's a lake of fire is what is known as "begging the question," because no one has proven that the Bible is the word of God, either. And if that can't be proven, then the Bible can't be used to prove anything. Again, not saying what anyone "should" or "shouldn't" believe, just trying to save you a little time and trouble there...

According to some atheist blogs, and even comments from other Christians which I've read on some forums, the really fundamentalist and rural communities do preach a lotta hellfire to those who don't follow their view of Christianity.

Incidentally, those Christians who posted on those forums have been looking for churches which didn't preach hellfire and damnation towards everyone else. They still to some extent considered themselves as fundies though, they just didn't want their Sunday mornings to be taken up by such unpleasant words.
