Is it just me or does Baby Blue really likes to fight Monique. |

I've never seen Baby Blue try to fight you, so I'd say she prefers Monique. _________________ 88 NPH |

On a random note, what's that logo on Monique's shirt and backpack? _________________ AstroCitizen -- soon to become "My Sacred Identity"

| Hmmm, a game involving two hotties jumping up and down vigorously, one while scantily clad and wearing heels....I predict Slick or Squig in 3...2...*Is hit by a speeding pig on a couch with a hash pipe.* |

For some reason it occurred to me to wonder when Monique and the Devil Girls first encountered each other. In case anyone else was wondering, it appears to have been here:

| Would've been marginally geekier/pop-culture-referential if instead of "You Cannot Pass!" she had said "You Shall Not Pass!" like Gandalf... |

Heh, liked this episode. I've never thought of hopscotch as a 'mode of combat'.
In that link Ronald posted, there was something about the devil girls... maybe it was just the style change, but . _________________ "This calls for grapes!" - The Devil |

The strip/link I posted is AFAIK the first time Monique and the Devil Girls appeared in the same strip. Seeing 'Nique with Baby Blue made me wonder how long they'd known each other. They basically only looked at each other in that strip, but they first actually interacted in this strip, when the Devil Girls try to recruit 'Nique as a Booth Babe:
http://www.sinfest.net/archive_page.php?comicID=3042
Notice that 'Nique is quite nonchalant about chatting with a couple of demons/succubi. Only a few strips later, Fuchsia and Crim meet for the first time, and history is made.
After the failed booth recruitment, 'Nique and the Girls next meet when the Devil sends the Girls to prevent 'Nique and Slick from having a romantic meeting. This culminates in a pillow fight which Jesus interrupts, making the Girls "good" as at the end of the Girls' very first arc. When the Devil reverts them, Fuchsia is slow to change back (and arguably never fully does), again marking a pivotal point.
Later, 'Nique sees Fuchsia spying on Crim and gets protective of him (which I thought was sweet), but then sees that Fuchsia means him no harm.
After that, 'Nique again passes by the Girls' booth, but this time it's she who "recruits" them by "unionizing" them.
From that point on, any hostility between 'Nique and the Girls are provoked by the Girls. When unprovoked, 'Nique is willing to be their friend, but neither Devil Girl seems entirely willing to return the sentiment.
So that's the status quo between the strip's three main female characters, in case anyone was wondering. Whether or not it will change, for the better or the worse, remains to be seen. |
