I can't remember if it's from an old episode of Cheers, or a movie (Three Men and a Baby maybe) but Im pretty sure there's a scene out there where Ted Danson plays a character who refers to his corvette as a his "$50,000 penis"

It's not always a penis. Sometimes it's hair, or an education, or a person who loves them, or anything else that makes them feel insecure.

I'm sure some people buy fast, shiny cars just for the love of cars... but I doubt many of them try to race a chubby guy in an '04 Subaru hatchback.

True, but it would've been funnier if I could've found the clip with Ted Danson Wink

I was very skeptical at first, because apparently I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like sudden changes. But Weather Underground's new system of displaying forecasts is really really great. The graphs for temperature, chance of prec., and wind behavior are fantastic at-a-glance aids to complement the traditional iconography of clouds and suns.

Oooooh, that's not bad. I've been using a norwegian site for a while now which does something similar: yr.no and it's amazing how much nicer it is just have one graph that tells you what the weather will be like today.

I don't care for being a vampire. But I would love to sparkle in the sun.

as for being a sparkly vampire...

UTILITARIAN TWILIGHT wrote:
"Edward," said Isabella tenderly. She reached up a hand and stroked his cold, sparkling cheek. "You don't have to protect me from anything. I've listed out all the upsides and all the downsides, assigned them consistent relative weights, and it's just really obvious that the benefits of becoming a vampire outweigh the drawbacks."

"Bella," Edward said, and swallowed desperately. "Bella -"

"Immortality. Perfect health. Awakening psychic powers. Easy enough to survive on animal blood once you do it. Even the beauty, Edward, there are people who would give their lives to be pretty, and don't you dare call them shallow until you've tried being ugly. Do you think I'm scared of the word 'vampire'? I'm tired of your arbitrary deontological constraints, Edward. The whole human species ought to be in on your fun, and people are dying by the thousands even as you hesitate."

The gun in his lover's hand was cold against his forehead. It wouldn't kill him, but it would disable him for long enough --

Has it really come to this?

Please, nathan. It's very important that people are made aware of advances in meteorological visual aids.

I want to sparkle without aids because I'm a lazy shit.

EDIT: I meant aids as in help, not as the disease D=

Also another list I stole from somewhere:

Your house: Hufflepuff.

Your favourite character from the trio: Hermione.

Three other favourite characters: Neville, Bellatrix and Luna.

Least favourite character: Umbridge.

Favorite book: Philosopher's Stone.

One favourite moment: When Harry goes shopping and we get to see all kinds of magical stuff.

How you were introduced to the series: Family shoved a book in my face.

What would your favorite lesson be?: Care of Magical Creatures.

Would you have entered your name in the Goblet of Fire?: No.

Would you have played Quidditch?: Maybe with a safety net.

What form would your Patronus take?: A tarantula.

What would be your profession in the wizarding world?: Entering politics to further good relations with willing Muggles and ease other Muggles into accepting wizards.

I am totally filling out this list too. Because reasons.

Your house: Hufflepuff (I was in denial for a while but no... no. Definitely a Hufflepuff.)

Your favourite character from the trio: Hermione. (nobody is surprised)

Three other favourite characters: Neville, Luna, Ginny (Fleur was a very close runner up.)

Least favourite character: Are we talking in terms of characters we hated reading about or characters we thought were awful people in general? I mean I guess Umbridge is a pretty strong contender in both categories, but I'm coming to despise Snape pretty thoroughly, too. He was at least way more fun to learn about.

Favorite book: Oh man, this one is hard. I think Deathly Hallows, if only because we got to see Neville, Luna and Ginny come in to their own.

One favourite moment: Ginny joking about Harry's imaginary hippogriff tattoo.

How you were introduced to the series: I... actually have no memory of this. I imagine, like most of my favorite fantasy novels, I dug it out of the library one day when dad took me along on one of his missions to find a sci-fi book he hasn't read yet.

What would your favorite lesson be?: Charms probably.

Would you have entered your name in the Goblet of Fire?: Hell no.

Would you have played Quidditch?: Unlikely, but I bet I woulda loved riding around on a broom without a sports inspired reason.

What form would your Patronus take?: I really want to say lioness but lbr, probably a house cat.

What would be your profession in the wizarding world?: Hrrrrrm. Probably making shit of some sort. Like, charmed whoositz or whatever.
