Back in the day, postwhoring used to be a thing?

It was. It was a glorious and spicy thing.
But, times and people change. Postwhoring is gone now, replaced by a vacuum.
Maybe the forum needed the whores to keep whoring to keep a flow going?
Maybe we killed it? Such mysteries.

Moustache's avatar is now the same as that as someone I knew on a different and completely unrelated forum and the urge to identify MM by CC's name is STRONG

A post-whoring thread without Snorri is no post-whoring thread at all. Respect-to-da-best.

I only truly came into my own through their influence. It was a mutual hyper-fuelling of true post-whoredom.

Ah!

AH!

JESUS FUCK WHAT THE FUCK

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Oh God why???

AAAAAAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Quote:
For example, the English word little may be transcribed broadly using the IPA as [ˈlɪtəl], and this broad (imprecise) transcription is a more or less accurate description of many pronunciations. A narrower transcription may focus on individual or dialectical details: [ˈɫɪɾɫ] in General American, [ˈlɪʔo] in Cockney, or [ˈɫɪːɫ] in Southern US English.

STOP IT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Quote:
It is primarily the shape of the tongue rather than its position that distinguishes the fricatives [ʃ ʒ], [ɕ ʑ], and [ʂ ʐ].

WHAT EVEN

Quote:
Alternatively, a superscript notation for a consonant release is sometimes used to transcribe affricates, for example tˢ for t͡s, paralleling kˣ ~ k͡x. The letters for the palatal plosives c and ɟ are often used as a convenience for t͡ʃ and d͡ʒ or similar affricates, even in official IPA publications, so they must be interpreted with care.

THERE IS NO GOD!!!!!

Quote:
[ɧ] is described as a "simultaneous [ʃ] and [x]".[51] However, this analysis is disputed. (See voiceless palatal-velar fricative for discussion.)

WHERE WE'RE GOING, WE WON'T NEED EYES TO SEE!!!!

Quote:
The four additional rising and falling tones supported by diacritics are high/mid rising ɔ᷄, ɔ˧˥, low rising ɔ᷅, ɔ˩˧, high falling ɔ᷇, ɔ˥˧, and low/mid falling ɔ᷆, ɔ˧˩. That is, tone diacritics only support contour tones across three levels (high, mid, low), despite supporting five levels for register tones. For other contour tones, tone letters must be used: ɔ˨˦, ɔ˥˦, etc. For more complex (peaking and dipping) tones, though it is theoretically possible to combine the three tone diacritics in any permutation, in practice only generic peaking ɔ᷈ and dipping ɔ᷉ combinations are used. For finer detail, tone letters are again required (ɔ˧˥˧, ɔ˩˨˩, ɔ˦˩˧, ɔ˨˩˦, etc.) The correspondence between tone diacritics and tone letters is therefore only approximate.

THERE! ARE! FOUR! LIGHTS!

An approximate IPA transcription, based on this description and the non-IPA signs, would be [kʟ̝̊ʊlʔ.ɬuː], with a voiceless velar lateral fricative.

Well, if your language didn't have such stupid pronunciation rules, maybe you wouldn't need all that! An exercise for the reader: list all the ways the /ea/-phoneme can be pronounced in English. Bonus assignment: /ou/.

"Hyperbole" <sobs>

(I'm aware it's an international convention but I don't easily pass by an opportunity to gripe about the English lèng-witch)

Yeah, I heard those. But don't go thinking English is any better. It's just what you are used to.
