well, the imam doesn't seem to know about the move-
| Quote: | | But a deal that the pastor, Terry Jones, said that he had reached to move the Islamic center far from ground zero seems to be more vision than reality. The imam planning the center, Feisal Abdul Rauf, said in a statement that he had not spoken to Mr. Jones or Muhammad Musri, the Orlando Imam who has been acting as a mediator between New York and Gainesville. |
and screw trump, and everyone else that wants it moved. they've been holding services in that building, they have a right to put it there, and most important of all, it isn't in the least what all the right-wingers say it is. and the only way to prove that is to put it up.
actually, i suspect the pastor got cold feet, and he's hoping to get credit, if the rest of the country does force the park51 people to move. this just gives him an honorable out. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

Jones did his job. He got pictures of flag burning Muslims back on the news. Anyone with an iota of sense knew he wouldn't go through with the book burning. There's a Muslim lawyer in the UK who constantly threatens to stage protests at the burials of UK soldiers killed in Iraq & Afghanistan. Without fail he grabs gallons of newspaper ink. Then he cancels at the last minute. Media whore, shit-storm whippee.
Terry Jones =/= Tila Tequila. _________________

Uh?
As others have pointed out, we've had nazi parades, protests over immunizing children, and picketers at the funeral of a kid who was murdered for being gay. I'm not sure "setting a book on fire" qualifies as inconceivably outlandish. _________________ All our final decisions are made in a state of mind that is not going to last. - Marky Mark Proust |

And we've had similair in the UK. Okay, perhaps I was a little strong, but I never thought he'd go through with it. I posted as much on fb two days ago.
I'm just dead dead wise is all. _________________

....which he now loses, because his web host canceled him.
according to the article, they didn't even know he was a customer until someone complained - and _they_ have a clause in the contract disallowing hate speech. and they figured "islam is of the devil" is, well, hateful.
and _i_ said that this was likely to bring up the wrongness of what he was doing. hopefully, between losing is web pages, and having people reading the plan for his little cult operation, he'll have a bit more to think about than the koran.
yeah, probably not. he'll probably just move on to a job as a commentator on fox. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

I'm not against burning a Koran... if a Bible, a Torah, a Little Red Book and a few others religious texts are burned at the same time.
If you really want perfect balance, you may add a Nietzsche book. |

That's actually not far off. Mao had a cult built around his story and personality. _________________ Scire aliquid laus est, pudor est non discere velle
