Slight timescale exaggeration aside, I believe the Nintendo Revolution (now known as the Wii) really did live up to its development namesake. All the other current-generation consoles had to set up projects to ape its control scheme, which proved so popular to a gaming and non-gaming audience alike that you could really make the case for this level of interactivity being long overdue in the consumer space. You can quibble about the execution, but the fact that motion controls made such a huge impression and literally transformed the way people interact with their video games signals the arrival of ...
