| D&D 3.5 had horses with static HP no matter how powerful your chars were. Any ambush resulted in DEAD HORSES. DEAD HORSES EVERYWHERE. |

My current play group has gotten into the habit of using our paladin's warhorse as a safe deposit box. This leads to hilarity when we forget things but the GM doesn't.
Paladin: Oh yes guard, the deed is in my saddlebags!
*Summons horse*
Guard: ... Why is there a dead body on your horse?
