I'm currently praying that defazio isnt replaced by a dude who believes in radiation hormesis |
I'll be shocked if Defazio gets knocked out. Especially by someone as fucking insane as Art Robinson. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

One symbolic, "culture war" issue which has flown well below the radar this year was an effort in Iowa to call a constitutional convention. Iowa's Supreme Court ruled last year that anything but full marriage equality to gays and lesbians was unconstitutional. The aim of a constitutional convention was to change that.
Anyway, the measure is being soundly defeated as of right now. Small victories and whatnot. _________________ Scire aliquid laus est, pudor est non discere velle

Sharron Angle, right? Let's fire up ol' wikipedia and see what she... be... believes...
Angle believes that the U.S. Department of Education should be eliminated... the U.S. should withdraw from the United Nations... fraudulent science such as global warming... ban same-sex marriage... only one spouse works outside the home is the best way to raise a family... opposes abortion, including in cases of rape or incest... does not believe that the United States Constitution mandates the separation of church and state... privatization of Medicare... against fluoridating drinking water... God's 'Plan'... remove the requirement that health insurers cover mammograms and colonoscopies... Social Security system should be "transitioned out"... comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve, eliminating the complete Internal Revenue Service code and abolishing Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae... repeal regulations that prohibit offshore drilling, drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge... If we don't win at the ballot box, what will be the next step?

have fun with him, Mitch McConnell!
alternatively, have fun watching him turn into an establishment Republican and totally turn his back on you, teabaggers!
it could go either way and either way would amuse me equally at this point |

in decidedly mixed news, Reid survived. don't suppose he could step down or be kicked out as majority leader anyway...
Jerry Brown won the California governor's seat. you have fun with that, man. |

More the latter of the two choices. If America were a democracy, there'd be a hell of a lot more voting taking place throughout it's history. As it is, America was founded as a republic. _________________ "Your weapons are no match for ours! People of Mars, surrender!"
