I've been looking through some recent strips, and I noticed something in "Sinfest Nights 4".
This is one that was formerly disrupted by the line glitch. All the art -poses, shading, etc - looks the same, but I saw one interesting difference.
I recall that in the last panel, Monique said, "No! Not the beebee gun!" That stuck in my mind, because it's quite unusual to spell it out like that. This makes it much less likely that I'm remembering wrong.
Now, in the version without the glitch, she says, "No! Not the BB gun!" A small, but unmistakable change.
The conclusion is clear. Tat changes Sinfest strips when we're not looking. This may be part of his secret scheme for world domination.
Discuss. |

You know what this means don't you? We're doomed... if Sinfest can't be the reliable thing in this world, it's all just pointless Xaos.
After all, where else would my ego be inflated. I look at Slick and think "Please T, don't make him a serious player, he's the only bar left lower than me" *sobs* _________________ Lone Wolf don't roll with the Clan |

Achewood's Chris Onstad does the same thing. He'll often revise strips, not just where he's made a technical error but also when he thinks of something funnier later. Sometimes he leaves the original intact and supplies a revised version for the interested reader.
He did it recently when an original Achewood strip featured Pat's penis. He regretted this later and clipped it out, and amusingly, fans implored him to put it back, so he did.
It's a good system, I think, at least for comics. We're not engraving on tablets anymore, so why should art be set in stone? |
