| I haven't seen or read Fox and the Hound, but looking it up, both versions sound pretty depressing to me... |

The horse. The horse (whose name I'm too lazy to look up) saves the movie. He's like the penguins in the Madagascar movies. _________________

No, I despise the entire premise of the story. |
I beg to differ. The "premise" is something along the lines of "Even mortal blood enemies can find friendship when they look through the innocent eyes of youth" (something I doubt you'd entirely hate), HOWEVER, how much the film actually lives up to that is debatable. Now the whole back story of sport hunting and what not, now there's some repugnant shit. _________________

| From what I've read, the conclusion winds up being "even if you try to overcome those things, and remember the innocence of your youth fondly, you still can't bridge those gaps later in life," but if that isn't the case and my sources (okay, Wikipedia) are incorrect, I'm more pleased. |

I'm with Chas, the film and what I looked up of the book seems to imply that even if you can look past differences as a kid, it's doomed to fail in adulthood.
Not a message I like at all, in fact.
Ultimately though, let's be honest. It doesn't have a happy ending and something has to be really fucking amazing for me to like it without my happy ending. _________________ "Samsally is rude and calls people fuckwits." ~ Dogen |

I've never seen the original, so no. Does the sequel make everything OK? |

I don't know what is better: Darqcyde's Screen Writing Masterclass, or the fact that a year and a half on people finally answered the original topic, only to have it derailed by discussions about how Samsamlly hates animals (I may not have read every post).
Is the sequel called MechaFox and HoundZilla? Does anyone have a machine gun for an arm? Because my interest is seriously waning. |

it does have an epic quality to it. like you should be accompanying some hero to destroy a ring, or something. _________________ aka: neverscared! |
