Dear festers,
once upon a time there was such a thing called the 'Mixtape' It would be a careful compilation of music, with the goal of creating a whole that consists of more than it's parts. We once had a thread going, yet I feel it would be nice to try and start it up again. Form to be youtube playlist/or uploaded rar file or something of the sort.
Sincerely,
The Cookie Monster. _________________ When life gives you lemons, some people make lemonade. I just eat them and make a sour face. |

so is the gist of it that we post entire youtube playlists for the enjoyment (or lack there of depending on musical taste) of others? _________________ "Your weapons are no match for ours! People of Mars, surrender!"

This is a progressive metal adventure I call The Guardian Saga. (~24 minutes)
I threw this playlist together because the story seemed to leap out at me.
It follows the condemned criminal from the first song. Expecting to land in a lake of fire after his execution, instead he finds himself drifting through a void to emerge in an appointed place far above the Earth, compelled to witness all the evils of the world. After countless ages, he can't bear to stand by and watch anymore. Pleading to the powers that be, he's finally granted a chance to return and deliver the last living souls from worldly suffering.
Couldn't find one of the tracks I wanted to include, an instrumental that would have been second in the queue. It's not strictly necessary, but does flesh the playlist out and give the lyrics a little room to breathe between the older, first track and newer ones that follow. Here's the list as is:
Before I Hang - Savatage (bonus track on a re-issue of Dungeons Are Calling).
Guardian of Forever - Jon Oliva's Pain ('Tage Mahal).
Timeless Flight - JOP (Maniacal Renderings).
Someone/Souls -JOP (Global Warning). |

Yeah, basically. Or if the songs are to obscure, to download/upload them. _________________ When life gives you lemons, some people make lemonade. I just eat them and make a sour face. |

I seem to remember there was an honest to goodness cassette tape being sent around at one point, with people adding one song a time. Gary organised it. _________________ Ironically, Halen's one of the few people here I wouldn't worry about terrifying my friends and family.
