Al Bowlly - My Woman
From 1932, heard it on the radio last night. It was sampled by White Town (as your woman), and later Wiley. Original is just fantastic. _________________ Ironically, Halen's one of the few people here I wouldn't worry about terrifying my friends and family. In my head he ends every real life conversation stroking his chin and saying, "well yes, that sounds reasonable." |

For some reason I always replace the name in this song with Gary and use it as the soundtrack to the imaginary wild night in Wigan we'd have should I ever go to England. |
That does sound a lot like the inside of my head after five drinks.
I never cottoned on to the Butthole Surfers before, really, even though they had a video that I loved back in the mid-nineties that was featured on Beavis & Butthead*. (In fact, it might even be this song). Anyway, now I shall listen to Pony's link:
Okay I now like The Butthole Surfers.
* actually that was almost certainly 'Pepper'. _________________

Is it wrong that you nostalgiabowled me that I went and listened to the White Town version twice in a row? "Wow! 1930s! That reminds me of 1996!" or whenever. Also, Steve, I could never be your woman. _________________
