Yeah, I agree with everyone else: see how much they're worth, then either selectively sell them whenever you need the money, or boast to everyone that you have those cards in their faces.
The former is something I have done in my life. But I have seven folders worth of mint/near-mint cards so...none alpha/beta though. Well, none of the big-sellers. _________________ WARNING: Microwave musclebear detection devices in use on these premises!

Sadly that demotivational poster doesn't make sense due to the picture size shrinking and you not being able to see the cards. I'm sure it's a bunch of dual lands/other money cards or something unsurprising.
Also...yes I'm too lazy to GIS it for a bigger picture. Sorry, I'm lame like that. |

OH!. Thanks for pointing out the fact that I didn't notice the obvious cix. lol
That would be a pretty expensive way of playing the game. Eek! |

Well if you figure they are buying the "cheap" 200 dollar iphones 60 of them would cost you 12k$ minimum. But then after your initial investiment they could be any card you want, which saves you money in theory. Then the only problom you will have are shuffeling*.
*I'd say you would have a hard time finding friends that would play with you, but if you are that loaded I doubt it would be very hard. _________________ "I am the enemy," was the reply. "The one you thought would never come." |

I placed 2nd in a little local Legacy tourney and I got a Adaptive Automaton, turn to frog, and a Lord of the Unreal in the boosters I won. WINNING! _________________ "I am the enemy," was the reply. "The one you thought would never come." |

Urgh, ridiculous. I keep seeing things which make me glad I quit years ago.
Though... draft sounds like a lot of fun, with sets like these. _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

I love MTG, but I hate its business model. Every cycle has a new mechanic without which you can't compete, and which is phased out by next cycle (which will introduce another mechanic). Anyone remember flanking, phasing, morphing, shadows, buyback...etc .etc
I spend a lot of time and money to get the best cards in that cycle, and then in 6 months (or maybe a year) time they are usually phased out.
WotC greediness is so transparent that I can't enjoy the game at all. During my last MTGO stint, I spend around 400 Euros on the thing. And now I log in, and I can't play cause half the cards are useless.
Why I am ranting, because I WANT to play. _________________ Tsosm! Now trying out a trashier front page. |

I completely agree, that's why I dont invest much in standard, just legacy. Legacy is MUCH more fun to me anyway. Standard feels like playing Magic with floaties on.

Also Shards of Alara was the last multicolored block, that might be what you were thinking. _________________ "I am the enemy," was the reply. "The one you thought would never come." |

I sometimes play casually. Have a couple of hundred old cards laying about. I have a red zapper deck which has been able to hold it's own at the local rpg/boardgame shop. _________________ '[Obama] is like a dog, running around biting peaceful people for no reason.' - Cristi Wang |
