So way back at the beginning of November, episode 1 of the fan-made MLP Online game was released. A month later it was taken out by trademark/copyright claims. Development has stopped and there will be no further episodes of the game. In hindsight, the name "MLP Online" was probably not the best thing to plaster all over the internets.
Meanwhile, all the art assets and the game's OST are being released. The soundtrack seems to be under a CC Attribution license (at least the ones by Hupondroid), if anyone wants to reuse them. The art assets will be "free for all to use," but keep in mind that it probably doesn't mean much legally since the actual characters are still Hasbro's property.
There are also posts up on the team's website explain the game's planned story progression and the skill system they developed. More stuff will be forthcoming.
The game's single-player episode 1 campaign is still floating around the interwebs, but I haven't tried tracking it down.

I didn't download the windows installer, but the version in the .zip runs fine under WINE

I'm not 100% certain this is the 'official' version and I didn't run it through any antivirus or anything, but it didn't ask for any special permissions, sooo...
