Yeah, I'm a little disappointed by the pacing of it. It would have been such a cool thing to have as a series finale. But I guess the guys who are paying for it want to rake in the money from winged Twilight sales.

I also kinda hate that they've turned it into yet another "girl" story about being a princess. Woo. Original.

The orchestral soundtrack for the Past Sins fanfic is now up to Chapter 10 (parts one and two), and clocks in at just over two hours so far. Almost halfway there! Say what you will about the story it's based on (I have avoided reading it, like all fanfics!), but this is some quality soundtrackery.

WHERE ARE YOUR EPIC ORCHESTRAL SOUNDTRACKS FOR MIDDLING FANFICS, WHOVIANS? And stuff dedicated to Dr. Hooves doesn't count.

also i am finally reading more on the Las Pegasus Unicon cockup and holy fucking christ am i happy i skipped on that. some people from the SoCal meetup group invited me to go, since it was on my birthday; i declined because i had work to do and because spending hours on end in a car with a bunch of bronies sounds moderately hellish to me, and now i see i would've also been bilked for every cent i have and then some and stranded in Las Vegas.

so, uh, nyah. what a mess.

More stuff on Las Pegasus Unicon:
A long and in-depth summation of events so far from Final Draft of Everfree Radio. Highlights include: explanations of the fundraising efforts for both the VIP guests and the average con-goers, what happened to the vendors at the con who often got stuck with worthless con vouchers instead of cash for their merch, and possible illegal billing by the hotel for the guests.
A Google Doc with a shorter summary and information gathered over the last few days about the con organizers and what happened, plus context with other failed or fraudulent conventions from other fandoms.
This kind of thing has happened before, either by plans going awry or by intentional scamming. The agents for the VIP guests (voice actors, writers, etc.) were all extremely grateful for the fund raising to cover their clients (the money raised so far covered about 90% of their expenses) and encouraged the community fundraising effort to help bail out the normal attendees.
There's also an ongoing effort to find out more about the Unicon organizers, with some evidence of potentially shady dealings. That could be paranoid, but like I said it's happened before. That's why getting information is important.
