I never knew Madman/Rei, but I heard about it because of Shannon. It was con-related. They rented a beach house somewhere roughly a million years ago. If I remember correctly the accident happened at the end of a crazy weekend, rather then at the beginning of it.

Also, Shorty Red is cute I agree. She is also extra-nerdy and fun to hang out with. I watched her beat all four levels of the old star wars arcade game in one play once. It was fairly impressive if your the kind of person that's impressed by video game prowess.
