I can't afford to pick any of these up till about a month from now, but my comic shop is holding them for me.
ACTION COMICS
ALL-STAR WESTERN
BATMAN, INCORPORATED
EARTH 2
LEGION LOST
LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
THE SHADE
WORLDS’ FINEST
Avx: Vs
AVENGERS VS X-MEN
WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN
FIRST X-MEN
UNCANNY X-FORCE
WOLVERINE
I have a list of other books I will get as back issues or in trades when I can afford them, but these are the most essential ones for me.
Pondering re-adding Gail Simone's Batgirl. |

On a side note, I am one of the people who doesn't like a lot of DC's new rebooted world--and a year in, I'm actually even less pleased than before. On the other hand, a few years ago I hated the direction Marvel was taking (Civil War, etc.) and now I think it's gotten a lot better, so I am sure that DC's dark period will pass as well. |

That is because you aren't reading the best one: Demon Knights. Birds of Prey has a pretty fantastic story line that I am enjoying the heck out of. Batgirl (written by the most amazing GAIL SIMONE!) is fun but tied a bit too tight to the Batman stuff. I keep hearing that Animal Man is amazing but I haven't picked it up. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

Well, I read the first few Demon Knights because it was by Doctor Who's Paul Cornell,* but somehow it didn't grab me enough. It's on my get-eventually list. Still, the present-day DCU makes me unhappy (what happened to you, Geoff Johns? ) but that's a lonnnnng story and I've posted endlessly about it over on a few other comics fora.
* I have also heard that his Captain Britain and MI:13 was incredibly good so I should get that too |

Oddly, the only New 52 book that has grabbed me is World's Finest ... and the lead characters aren't even from the New 52 world _________________ 88 NPH |

Just a reminder that even though I started another comics thread, this is the one which was already here... |

Yup yup.
So, what is the creepiest comic you have read? I have a pretty big list:
Locke & Key (GO BUY IT ALL!)
Neonomicon (what the fuck Alan Moore)
House of Mystery (the relaunch)
GIVE ME MORE! _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

That really really icky issue of X-Men Unlimited by Chuck Austen that shows a lot of animal abuse.
Serious matter that must be addressed, but... oh God, it's just one of my buttons. |

Anyone read Fables? If so, anyone catching the spin off Fairest (it is about the girls in Fables).
Because HOLY FUCK MY BRAIN IS LEAKING OUT OF MY EARS TO BE LICKED UP BY MY CAT! SHIT! Issue #7 of Fairest. I must take everything I knew about two characters and THROW IT THE FUCK OUT! _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

So I read Batman, loved the scenes in the dark at GPHQ. Catwoman was very meh but then I don't know the characters. Looking forward to reading Batgirl when I get in.
Also read LXG: 2009. Bored now, Alan. Bored. _________________

Recent books I've read are Good as Lily and Regifters, both of which coincidentally have Korean teenage girls for protagonists. Kind of in the young-adult genre. Lily was better than Regifters, both pretty good. _________________ 88 NPH |

First vol of Gotham Central. That is now my favourite cancelled comic book.
Also, Penguin: Pain & Prejudice is brilliant. _________________

I really enjoyed Gotham Central a lot.
I also liked LXG: 2009, but only because it was less awful than 1969.
I enjoyed Century: 1910, it felt like it was going back to where it was before everyone went fountain of youth bananas. I have fun with the character of Orlando, but it all got really clownshoes.
The first two volumes are just SO GOOD.
I just read the first few of Arcudi's The Creep and enjoyed it, and all of the Darwyn Cooke Parker adapations to date and they are FUCKING EXCELLENT. Really great pulpy hard boiled heist caper stuff. |

Hellblazer cancelled. Constantine to continue to appear in DC mainline books, but in a far less scuzzy version. Hell-cagoule? _________________
