post counts definately suck... there are always a few individuals that make worthless contributions and post complete crap just because they feel that they need to post more to 'be on top'...
and, naturally, it gets worse when someone new shows up and sees other forum members have 6,802 posts... then immediately start posting junk to try and fill the gap so that they too can be validated by a number.
join dates aren't really bad... it can be useful since it helps provide a little context about a person if they're new and don't have clue, or if they're old, and just a quiet type that only speaks when there is an opinion worth sharing... |

Reg dates are okay, but post counts have to go. Simple as that.

I don't think it's useful to do that. If somebody's new in a forum, he wants to know who of the members has an idea of what's going on in the forum? And usually the members with the most posts read the most posts, don't they.

I say keep reg. dates and get rid of the posts counts. I've lurked in a couple of forums that have their post counts turned off and they were pretty much troll free because of it.
Honestly I don't see the point in having a post count anyway. |
