i would LOVE to see post counts and register dates go away completely from every forum I visit. I think they're worse than disgusting or dickish trolls. Just sayin' ...
make WHAT you say important, not how much you say it or how long you've been saying it.
Tat, I'm not askin' for you to make changes to your new home. I'm just ruminating on forums in general. _________________ On Twitter

No, you can't change anything, Tony. How absurd for you proposing such an idea. It's blasphemous! It's just not Sinfest!
So yeah, in conclusion, I agree with you. _________________ TatWatch - The Artist is: IN!

that's...radical.
the only drawback i can come up with off the top of my head is the easy-reference of reg dates.
when someone hasn't shown up in, say, a year, but they were quite the butthead when they did, dating the nick can make things fall together a lot quicker.
maybe not much of a drawback, but there's that. _________________ Does anyone really believe that politicians and bureaucrats in Washington can successfully steer a multi-national corporation to economic viability?

Getting rid of them would suit me fine, but it won't change anything.
Besides, amongst ourselves there really aren't too many "I've been here since day one!" dickwads, and we won't have visitors here with ratings from Keenspot trolling their asses off.
Now there simply won't be anything in writing to back up claims of superiority based on post count/join date. It won't stop them from being made, or change attitudes. Dickwads will, after all, be dickwads. _________________ "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid" ~ SGT John Stryker from "Sands of Iwo Jima". |

You want to look at their registration date or the date of their last post, which could be found when you look for all the posts of a particular member? _________________ TatWatch - The Artist is: IN!

doesn't really matter - and i'm not advocating, just pointing it out.
i'm thinking about the 'in and out' asses, where the reg date would give you a time frame ('oh, yeah...that one was here last spring and stirred up shit')
it's a reference point for those primarily forgettable characters, is what i'm saying. _________________ Does anyone really believe that politicians and bureaucrats in Washington can successfully steer a multi-national corporation to economic viability?

Like Dragonwriter, returning under a brand new name? I'm sorry, MT, but I don't see the benefit. _________________ TatWatch - The Artist is: IN!

Actually, you seem to be working hard at convincing me that there is, in fact, a benefit. I chalk it up to different priorities. _________________ TatWatch - The Artist is: IN!
