Neal Stephenson's idea doesn't impress me enough to back it, but the video is HILARIOUS. _________________ Eureka00: "Reminding you of your addictions" since 1982.

For anyone interested in starting a project you should download the Crowdfunding Bible (that's the actual title). It's a free .pdf and also available for itunes/nook/kindle. Only the print version cost. It's basically a laundry list of what to do and what not to do. http://www.CrowdFundingGuides.com/
Also it breaksdown and compares the different services of a bunch of sites including kickstarter, indiegogo, rockethub, and about a dozen others. _________________

I'd give money to that if I could. I like Neal. _________________

That OUYA looks like an interesting concept. Should be interesting to see where it goes. But the potential is interesting, even if those of us who computer game already kinda get the same thing. But cheap fun games with an affordable console? It's got a good ring to it.
I originally backed the "Japan Needs Heroes" thing or what-not for a fundraiser for Japan's disaster relief. It turned into a bit of a fiasco, with so many artists, and a bunch of them kinda went the lazy approach. _________________ Have a Nice Day |

When I first saw it, the $95 reward tier had 450 or so remaining. I refreshed 10 minutes later and it was sold out. Phenomenal run rate. |

Fuck me topwise, they jumped up another million dollars overnight, up to 2.9 million so far.
Most people are donating at the $95/99 level. |

That's an interesting concept, but I think I have enough video game stuff in my house haha. _________________ Eureka00: "Reminding you of your addictions" since 1982.

Some people don't think so. $4,494,197 and 26 days to go.
This is second only to the Pebble smart watch thing so far. They could stop receiving any more money and be the second most successful Kickstarter ever. |

So this isn't video games or anything but I donated to my first kickstarter today!
Dylan Meconis is an artist I've admired for a long time. Plus I've been meaning to buy a copy of Bite Me since forever but it never worked out in the past. _________________ Samsally the Gray |

If I had had $200 to piss away on RPG products I would have bought into the Deadlands Noir kickstarter. Alas, I do not. Fortunately, I can just buy the books when they come out, and free ride on whatever benefit Pinnacle gains from being able to just plow the excess funds into their other projects.
It was pretty awesome to watch them rack their brains to figure out new stretch goals to add once they got above 1000% funding. _________________ "Whatever afflicts thee, their asses I shall kick"

I just went local and pledged some money to this art project to be set up one county over. I like the concept.
Also, the Ouya has hit over 5.6million bucks, with 12 more days to go. They just announced a timed exclusive game and a deal with that OnLive streaming game service. |
