Okay admittedly the only other person I know who appreciates BJDs here is Samsally, but I'm still making this thread. I found a cool site and now I'm down the rabbit hole of eerie/pretty dolls again.

Crying doll

Military with glowing eye

Prettyyyy

Yesss I will totally be contributing to this properly when I'm not in the middle of a wedding/funeral tornado.

I totally want a 45cm limhwa, though. Ugh so pretty.

The plot of Wedding crashers merged with the plot of Twister?

If Kevin Spacey was the lead character, maybe he could pull it off.

What is this, I don't even....

Do you have any idea how problematic it it glamorizing 'traditional' gender roles?

Dressing womyn up as Nazis for some cishet shitlord's bigot power fantasies?

Do you not see the problem here? I am literally shaking in rage over how completely wrong this type of fetishism is.

WTF is wrong with you? Do you suffer from Stockholm's Syndrome?

Wtf, I mean I know you're a troll but for a start, those aren't "womyn" dolls in the military outfits anyway, so if I wanted to engage on this contrived level I'd say that you're the one being "oppressive" by assuming that due to their feminine facial features they're girl dolls. I mean if we want to go really deep into the rabbit hole I'd argue that since they're dolls, they don't have innate genders at all and so it's whatever people decide they should be, but still, from a "what they are sold as" perspective, they're dudes. Also I have no idea how those look like "nazi" uniforms, they just look like overly ornate dress uniforms with no specific ties to anything to me. But hey, if you're really dedicated to keeping up this stupid front of yours, go find some images of Nazi uniforms and make an illustrated list of everything they have in common. It's not like you seem to have anything better to do.

For no particular reason I can put my finger on, I think the flapper one is really cool.

I think a doll is cool. Am I really a man?

Wing2 got a couple ball-jointed dolls for giftmess a couple of years ago. I was browsing a subforum of Ravelry looking for patterns to knit for the two dolls and fell in love with the creativity and such. I ended up buying a used one for myself. Then last winter I bought another doll for myself. I don't have any pictures available but I'll take some this week and post them.

All four of them are HUGE, standing between 62-70cm. I'm thinking of trying a smaller doll, but as my newest doll still doesn't have a name or anything (okay, she has clothes and a hand-me-down wig, but she's unpainted) I don't think I should indulge any more until I take care of who I have right now.

My dolls are 70cm, 60cm, and 43cm (er, pretty sure anyway) I was suuuuuper hesitant to get the 43cm girl but it turns out that is probably my favorite size. I just don't care for the ones that look like kids much.

Tiny sweatervest turned out pretty good!

Sadly she doesn't really have proper pants yet cuz everything else I've made for her is a dress, whoops.

Maybe I'll make her a little skirt or something next.
