Question: if it was you, would you want to know (considering the long term effects on your life/existence)?

I think yes, I would. But not being in our friends positing, I can't really say, I suppose.

One would hope that the fruit of knowledge would have all the knowledge he'd need, and not just enough to break him. Yes, he -has- been a sanctimonious Jesus-clown. But not just, not only, there is room for love and mercy for the fears and falsehoods that behavior came from, and room to change and grow past them. Who knows, he might actually -understand- Christianity if he can figure that much out.

Yes, he's a sinner, but that doesn't have to define and end him.

What I find the most interesting is how Big G chose to answer Seymour: Not directly - not speaking at all, in fact - but allowing him to eat unto the Fruit of Knowledge (assuming that's what it is) and letting him find out on his own.
This is a neat parallel to Slick vs. Sleaze: Looking inside oneself to see who really lives there. They have the means; have they the will?

My literary analysis skills stink, so I'm just going to assume God wants Seymour to make apple pie.

Or maybe a caramel apple.

It's difficult. On the one hand, if I were Seymour, I would like to know what I had been up to before I got my amnesia. Just because I'd feel incomplete having lost my past.

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to deal with what I had done. After all, I'm a new person now who is out to be good and discovering what I had done might change it.

... Seymour doesn't have amnesia, though.

He doesn't? I thought he drank from the Lethe and thus forgot it all. I might be mistaken.

Slick and Li'l E are the only characters who have gotten amnesia due to the lethe. Slick got his memories back, while it isn't clear whether Li'l E has his back or not. His reactions to some things imply he has gotten some memories back, but it's not exactly certain. However, Seymour (and Pebbles) have both taken a dive in a purified lake but there has been no evidence that the lake was the lethe. If it was the lethe - which I doubt, based on the fact that the dragon was sleeping in the lake - Seymour kept his memories from the ordeal. He has, however, accidentally pricked himself with Cupid's arrow - which was essentially the equivalent to getting really drunk to him but has resulted in him calming down quite a bit, at the price of twisting his fanboyism of Jesus to almost sexual levels.

This has been a recap brought to you by Miss Magenta, now go buy me some skittles.

I wouldn't say "twisted", more "brought out into the open". Don't have any Skittles, how do you feel about Snickers Minis? Maybe Reese's Pieces?
