The problem with this whole feminist and anti-porn thing is that it's gotten very literal and preachy. No matter how well-intentioned, I hate being preached at. Especially by completely (to me) unlikeable characters. Stone-faced, humorless little munchkins in dark glasses, meant to represent - what? My conscience? Women raging against the patriarchy? Revolutionaries? Sorry, my conscience has a sense of humor. The women I love all have the ability to laugh at me and at themselves without needing to completely desex themselves and present a completely gender-neutral aspect.

I think that the artist has taken the wrong tactic. Frankly, if I were playing a psychiatrist on TV, I would think that what is depicting having happened to Sam and Liberty literally happened to our storyteller. But I certainly don't know that.

Full disclosure: I like porn. I like making images of hot chicks. I'm also not going to delete my porn stash. I like it. I enjoy the fantasy. It's an escape that I really need. So, this is not going to be one of the battles I feel like fighting or contributing to.

Frankly, in the grand scheme of things, the real villain is not Squig. It's Satan. It's not some Grand Patriarchy in the real world. It's economics, driven by corporations.

Satan is also not ever going to be subverted by some Chibi in a Lucy Van Pelt Lemonade Stand preaching. He'll be defeated by Buddha, who actually offers something better in exchange for what you're giving up.

I couldn't help but post on this line that Tat is taking us. ( My first post by the way on Sinfest, though i've been reading the forums from ages). I think it's great to see the growth in the characters ( probably mirroring the growth in the artist?) and I really really love the way he brings out concepts with both views and sends a message without missing the fun aspect!

I think the bigger issue with porn is not about the freedom, but that it takes you intrinsically on your own personal ride and reduces the possibility of a good normal relationship. ( I speak not on a general basis, but as a personal experience). I also love how he shows the attempts to break away. ( I still have the comic where Squig throws away all his stuff and dreams of all the stuff in his house dancing around like his weed).

And on a non comic related post, would have loved if Tat ( or the Admin if they're different) could add a Like button to the posts!! Some of the posts are so funny / hilarious that it makes the (metaphorical) milk shoot out of my nose! Would love to show my appreciation of it that way.

Also a big HI to all the fellow fans with a special hi to Ronald and Ms. Magenta for all the joy they add to the forum.
