Topic for debate:

If God were the almighty being and creator, would it be possible for him to control our sins as well?

Leaving before the apocalypse.

another question, if god knows everything and has the power to do anything, does that not mean that all acts (both good and evil) are condoned by god?

Well god gave us free will, so if we sin it is because we did it by our own intention and not his. But then this comic brings up the question:

¿Do we really have freedom to do what we choose to do or is that what god wants us to believe?. ¿Did God made me want to write this or was it really just me who wanted it?

Go ahead think a little, just dont let your mind erode.

Just because god set in motion things to happen that you choose a particular action doesn't mean that you didn't choose that action.

If god exists anyway. But the same kind of problem exists for purely physical determinism as well.

So much for that so-called 'free-will' idea.

This is the kind of comment I was expecting. But for some reason we're having religious discussions about free will. I'm all for theological debate, it's one of my favorite pass-times, but seriously, peeps been clamoring for more God, and for more funny strips. Here we have a genuinely funny strip that involves God, and people are just going on wild tangents instead of praising it for being funny and involving God. Little did I expect a forum for a web-comic to be ungrateful.

But, fine, I'll play along. Yeah, "free will" really doesn't make sense at all when you think about what it really means. No matter what way you look at it.

You could say that people are who they are because of how they are brought up, and what experiences they have in life. In which case, who you are, and consequently the decisions you make, are Gods fault, because he made the world around you (in a week, no less). Therefore, God purposely made you a sinner worthy of going to hell, or, in other words, set you up for massive failure.

You could, however, be of the belief that we are who we are inherently, based on the souls we are born with. That would mean that this world is basically a big soul testing ground where the good are separated from the bad and both go their perspective and deserving ways. But then, where do souls come from? Did God create them? If so, why would he make souls which were inherently going to turn to evil? Isn't that just like making something crappy so you can throw it away? Why would God do that? It's just setting some up for failure in a different kind of way.

No wise, benevolent, or otherwise worship-able God would do things like this. Now the God in Sinfest, however, may just be that big of a dick.

For me it's easy to say: Lol what god? But I'll play nice.

If we assume God is all powerful and nice, then why do so many 'sins' occur?
If we assume God is nice but not that powerful, then it makes sense, but people wouldn't want to believe in a God that's more like them (aka less powerfull).
If we assume God is powerful but evil, then why do good things occur as well?

God could be a powerful yet chaotic entity that simply puts things in motion, whether they are good or bad. But nature does that as well.
