Epic drop?
Both want it?
Melee to initiate combat. Then get back to playing the game so your characters can duel for the item. _________________ I have a face, with a mustache.

Rather than clogging up the video game thread more with my "6-8mth too late feelings on SWTOR," I'll ramble here!
So the gameplay has finally bogged down on my agent. Level 41, just started Belsavis, and NOW the combat has started to feel more grindy than acceptable means to an end. Pretty darn good it took this long, though.
So, I started a jedi knight. Very different feel to the combat, which is what I was hoping for. Just hit level 10 last nnight, went sentinel because heck, downtime is so low between fights that I may as well go MOAR DAMAGE!! Also playing the ultra-virtuous jedi after the scum of the earth agent is a very interesting roleplay change. Yes, I made my jedi be my agent's daughter (I switch genders every character in MMOs. It's just a thing).
Also I've taken to pronouncing it "Sweater," or even "Sweater Online." _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

So, Battlefield 3 is great, and oh god why don't I have a computer that can run it? _________________ When life gives you lemons, some people make lemonade. I just eat them and make a sour face. |

I tried making the "Sweater" thing happen but people just pronounce it "swo-tor" instead. _________________ Way to kill the conversation, Patty.- Trevor |

considering how not productive i've been lately i'm a little horrified i can't even attribute it to video games.
I've made NO progress in any of my games since the convention. It's just been a rollercoaster of spending all my money in new and interesting ways since then. _________________ Samsally the Gray |

My wife is also onboard with calling it sweater, if it's any consolation. _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

So, my agent in SWTOR is on Voss, a hair below level 46. He has about 10,300 HP. I kinda sorta accidentally activated some huge, gribbly monster (level 50 and had the lovely gold border plus white chevron of a major boss). Predictably I got killed in one shot, but the damage listed was ~275,000. Two-hundred, seventy-five thousand damage. Can there really be things that far beyond me when I'm only a touch over four levels from the cap? Sheesh. _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

Some world bosses have that thing where you need as many people as possible there, as the damage is shared. But 275K??? I guess you still can't kill that one kitted out in scrub gear.
Speaking of sweater (catching on?), got my Molten, so I'm back in business! New mouse, but I gotta say, they sure make it look bigger on the ads. Gonna have to level my imperials on Corellian. _________________ "Apparently so. But suppose you throw a coin enough times, suppose one day. . . it lands on its edge."

Ding! Sweater agent hit level 50. Also, maxed Scorpio's affection (my first maxed companion). Haven't quite finished the class story, though - it's already after 1am, so... that can wait, heh. Awesome stuff, though! Also Corellia is pretty darn good looking, which is a nice cap to the mediocre visual design in the rest of the game so far. _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

Sweet! Grats, man!
Man, I'm ashamed. I haven't played sweater for a week now and I have my new mouse and everything. For some reason I got the urge to play Deus Ex, which I've had the collector's edition of for... oh... several months? Just never tried it because I figured my graphics card couldn't handle it. Well, 'lo and behold, I finally did and surprisingly it actually handles quite smoothly. Some hiccups here and there, but still smooth. Pretty good for a five year old card (Ancient by today's standards.) And no surprise, I really, really like it. Fun! I decided the stealthy approach this first time around, but I can imagine it'd be fun going in guns blazing too. Still getting used to all the kinks, though. I thought it'd have ties to the first game, but er... yeah, no. Not a single reference. Yet. Anyway, late to the game (heh) but Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Really damn good!
Just. I really wish games like these didn't have omniscient AI. Takes you right out any immersion you may have had. _________________ "Apparently so. But suppose you throw a coin enough times, suppose one day. . . it lands on its edge."

Is very, very good. Learning curve sucks though. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |
