I think it's overdone. Not threatening at all.
Just boring.
If A: He's just trying to get a reaction, then it's not pure or honest. It's just wanking off, and I refuse to lift my head and be covered with his artistic spunk as he gets off on it.
If B: he's sincere then he won't get any converts this way, he'll just piss off and drive away the people who most need to be reached.

Ok...here's the adult version. Your post is both condescending and full of logical inconsistencies. First off, the fact that you met some "ball busting feminist" who had submissive sexual tendencies..doesn't really prove much. I forget exactly what the technical term is but i'm pretty sure that there's a logical fallacy somewhere in holding up your one anecdotal example as though it disproves every opposing argument. For the second, you're being pretty condescending yourself. I'm curious as to what beyond the willingness to state it makes you king arbiter of what is and isn't a mature message regarding feminism. I appreciate the bait and tackle swingin between your legs makes pretty good arguments as to why you might be an authority. I just sit here noting that basically every woman and about half the men posting in these threads seem to be arguing against stances like that. So, what makes you more of an authority on sexism and messages thereof than any number of the people here who have actually studied the stuff? |

So - have your little tantrum and patrol the language of someone else, .
I will insult whoever I want however I want when I'm here. And guess what? When it comes time to vote for gender equality, whether it be the Lily Ledbetter law or something similar in the states, I will. I voted for the fucking ERA because it was right. If any woman in my workplace that I actually have to work with needs me to moderate my language because she feels uncomfortable with me saying something objectionable, I will immediately admit wrong and change my habits - as I always have, even before the state-mandated moronic sensitivity classes. Why? Because that's right. I try to do what's right, always. And, having put my body on the front lines with my wife for CARAL and been bullied and manhandled and villified by Randall Terry and his assholes until we finally were able to drive them out of the state gives me a perspective that many here don't have, including, it seems to me, the author of this comic.
When I see a simplistic and naive point of view, I will call it as I see it.
When someone calls me a Nazi, he can fuck off and die. I have family who lost relatives in that war and in the camps. I was actually being restrained. |
