Sounds more like the choice between "whore," "virgin," and "feminist ass."
Seriously. I'm sick of it.
Why can't people just be people? No wedge issues in the way. Why does it always have to be one side vs the other?
The feminists are just as bad as the patriarchy. They just put different restrictions in place. _________________ "Cada uno es como Dios le hizo, y aún peor muchas veces."

Dude... in panel 7 there's a price tag hanging from that lady's crotch. I mean, the other ladies in the whore box have price tags, too, but not quite so blatant. Hardcore, Tat. _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth. Ah, the 'severe feminazi attitude change driving apart best friends' card.

1. Firstly, this isint even canon. No way in Hell would God be rich enough to build that 'Virgin' tower. (And while I'm on the subject, you can't be a virgin and a mother -_-)
2. Yeah, Glossie, you made a real difference. That little flag is gonna stop the whole patriarchy.
3. Hai Legion, looking good.
Nice looking comic... But why? _________________

What are you talking about, monique busting his balls for douchey commentary like that is what this comic has been about since pretty much the beginning.
Look closely at her face when he's doing the description of the ideal wife |

Oh, God may not have that much money, but he has enough uber-rich pseudo religious disciples to donate that kind of money and create a corporation (possibly less powerful) with the Virgin tower. Who do you think creates all that God merchandise that Seymour has stacked in his house?

I really like the way this is done. And Slick's 'compromise' actually sums up quite nicely what a lot of today's mothers feel they have to be. 'Yummy mummy's' anyone? MILFs? Why don't we have DILF's? -Daddies I'd like to Fuck?
"why can't people be people, why is it always one side against the other?"
Simple - religion started of that way. If you didn't believe in God, you were a heretic, heathen! You belonged in hell! Come be saved!
Today's women - you're either a successful yummy mummy or you are not. Today, if a mother does not hold down a full or part time job, looks after all the children, looks after her body and her husband and the house, she is considered a failure, by both men and women, moreso by women.
Tat simply portrayed the basic view - virgin or whore.
Hell, even you. and everyone to some extent are against another side, believe it or not. Whether you'd like to admit it, some of your most private beliefs are purely black and white, no matter how outwardly accepting you are to everyone regardless of their beliefs, desires and actions.
Not quite sure of the significance of the price tag. It probably further drives in the point of women being 'objects of desire' rather than people. Some women don't mind being an object of desire as long as they get the money for it. Other women (like me) fully resented being expected to dress sexy and nice to make the man 'feel special' (lacy lingerie, cleavage and short skirts/short dresses/short shorts and heels), and I couldn't dress like me (tank top, sneakers and jeans).
"I want to feel like I am going out with the most beautiful girl in the world"
"If you dressed like her (Mardi Gras dancer) , I'd pay more attention to you" (G string and nipple tassles)
"Why don't you wear that dress I bought for you? (short short dress, everyone can see my underwear if I bend at 20 degrees)
"If you wore heels, you'd be even more sexy"
"What do you think of me paying for breasts implants and a Brazillian wax? You'd look even more beautiful than you are now"
"Happy Birthday!" (white lace G string)
The kicker
"I'm just trying to help you realize your potential to be absolutely stunning"

Interesting comic, not only for the imposing first image, but also because it dives into the theory that women can only be saints or sinners (or whores and virgins if you'd like). Basically women can only be very bad or very good and nothing in between, depending on how 'obedient' they are. Obedience to the observer's norms and values that is.
Slick isn't helping because he doesn't get it.
I'm not sure what Glossy is doing though. Why plant a flag and ride off? It's better to set up a cookie stall there and educate everyone.
I feel Glossy is the extreme feminist and Curly is a more moderate one.
Also I am totally expecting a shitstorm in this thread. My popcorn is ready! _________________ Sinfest Comments Bingo because we like Schadenfreude~ |

I think this comic pretty much sums up Glossy's role in the story.

This. Was it so hard to just show "I'll ignore these two and just be myself"?

Of course she isn't. Since she adopted that boring androgine look she stopped being the Monique we all knew. |

The Nique who was sassy, sexy, insecure, outwardly confident and wasn't afraid to show her ass and tits when she felt like it?
The sort of girl that pretty much played to every male fantasy without actually getting respect for who she is as a person?
Every time she professed to be a deeper person with a personality, Slick, Squig and every other male in Sinfest (It girl fans anyone?) said that she wasn't, that all she really wanted was to BAM men with her ass.
Does this comic pretty much sum up what you want Nique to be again?
It's not 'wrong' if that is the old Nique you want back, but *if that is what you want* You are precisely the man I want to actively avoid. Kreeptonite! |
