Why does Fush look so... stubby? She looks like she's about Crim's height. _________________ Opinions are like ass holes: everybody has them. | This is really...just wow, and I like the character development happening here for Fuchsia and her problems with her past. Maybe we'll eventually even get to see that. But fighting her evil nature...and dealing with the scars of the past. It's powerful...and I just want to tell her it'll be okay. I think if anyone can help her and be there for her through it, Criminy can. Can't wait to see what's next. |

Well technically the reason it looks that way is that Tat's style changed over the last couple years to a more stylized look, where all the characters moved to the way he was drawing Slick, Criminy, etc a little more. |

Seriously, though, I look forward to a flashback/origin story. |

She feels awful so she feels emotionally empty and therefore she feels small.
It makes her smaller. That is why she is curling up: She tries to occupy the least possible amount of space.
It is mostly a masterful artistic license right there, but you can notice that on sad people: They loosen the posture, they hunch the back and look down. They actively try to make themselves smaller out of sadness and shame.
It's subtle, but often times, you can notice. |

Next strip: he takes her over to his house, unlocks his basement door and leads her in, revealing his vast underground lair full of servers and computers used primarily for hacking major corporations and manipulating the world's markets.
He then reveals to her that he is the grandson of Elliot Carver, and his goal is to carry on his grandfather's legacy by creating news and being the first to report on it. So he is first acquiring enough funds to buy a gigantic media corporation. Then, when all is in place, he will start organizing international conflicts and reporting it all via his new digital newspaper portal called...

I feel a slight recidivist vibe here. I half-expect her to next say "I can't fight what I am". I hope I'm wrong, though. _________________

You know, you're right. I completely over-looked it. And believe me, sometimes artists do it un-intentionally. You're trying to put that emotion in the character, and it just looks more natural for them there. It's all about getting into the drawing process so much you become it. It's like how I make faces when drawing people's faces...which, as I say that, reminds me of another artist's comic:

Monique is probably her best non-recidivist option for someone who can sympathize with being mad at everything. She's had strips devoted to being mad at everything - both comically ("why can't the world end right now?" rather than make her get out of bed), and seriously (a variety of her poems, some of her monologues on society, and her later reactions to the male gaze). Segue? Maybe! _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth. Either we get a backstory on Fyoosh's past or on Crim's past.
I want Crim's past to be completely dark and stuff. 8D Angst! _________________ Sinfest Comments Bingo because we like Schadenfreude~ |

Is it me or is the recent line of strips really all heavily mooded?.
I'm not trying to pry what's going on into your head Tat, just know that someone is doing a beautiful, and darn straight to the point, webcomic on Depression already. _________________ Meu aerobarca esta cheoi de enguias |

Even Monique will not be all that perfect though. Monique doesn't have the issues of being a "devil girl" to contend with. Pebbles is too innocent and naive to understand as well. Fuchsia's pretty alone on this intersection, but even that doesn't mean she has to resort to "I can't change what I am" in the sense of playing to all the stereotypes of "women" and "devil girls". She will always have her horns and tail and such, but those things do not define the entirety of who she is. |
