I never did like Charlie Brown.

I eventually warmed up to the peanuts cast when I worked wardrobe for You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and ALL of the actors in that show were so sweet and nice and awesomely funny that I couldn't NOT walk away from the experience with a new liking for Charlie Brown.

My best friend was prop mistress for the show and they made the pencils cartoonishly huge... at the end of the show, Charlie Brown is supposed to have one of the little red haired girl's pencils and he gets all misty about it saying "She chews her pencil, she's human just like anyone else." The prop mistress ended up making the chew marks proportionate to the pencil, though, and first dress rehearsal Charlie Brown said "She chews her pencil, she's.... almost human!" and he sounded so concerned about it we ended up laughing until the end of curtain, which was a whole song away. Like, the actors kept accidentally meeting our eyes and we'd crack up all over again while they were trying to sing about what a great guy Charlie Brown is.

I dunno, there isn't much of a point to this story other than it entertained me.

I haven't been able to enjoy charlie brown since whatsisname....death ray rolled through the forum a while back...he literally ruined an american classic for me.

You may want to watch out for Cease and Desist letters from the estate of Charles Schulz, Tat. Some folks have been known to get aggressive when it comes to protecting intellectual property...
