They can easily be both conscious and subconscious. _________________ "Cada uno es como Dios le hizo, y aún peor muchas veces."

Oh god, this one's ripe for people to read more into it than is actually there. Should be fun. _________________

I dunno, it seems pretty straightforward: Porn is bad and people who like it should feel bad. _________________

All the characters in this comic are now trying to go against who they once were; to challenge the preconceived notions they have about themselves and that other people have about them. Sometimes, this is a good thing as we grow an mature, but other times we must be true to ourselves. Squiggly is a pig; Fuchsia is a devil girl.
"If a lion could talk, we would not understand him."
Should we judge attempted changes in characters like that as we would judge the changes in Monique? Should Squiggly, a pig, be held to the same standards as a human male? Which, of course, brings us to our main character.
Slick seems to be the only one in the storyline not trying to improve, not trying to be more than he once was. If anything, he is sliding backwards do to his undiagnosed and uncorrected boofing. That is why he seems to be mitigated in these current comics. He is not moving forward as a person, but remaning stagnate. He is finding himself unable to raise to the dynamic challenges his changing world is confronting him with.
That which does not evolve, dies.
Oh, and I still read porn, so _________________ A MtG Webcomic |

Hey, the economic perversity of the porn industry today is a real issue. Tat makes a good point. Bet you didn't expect me to say that.
There's a lot of porn which squicks me out because I can see in the models' eyes that they're strung-out, or scared, or being intimidated. There's a lot of creepy stuff.
And even the less creepy stuff is worrying. It's a crazy, embarrassing way to make a living.
That said (running for the pommel horse) the economic perversity of the agriculture industry today--or health insurance, or politics itself--is pretty scary.
Porn for the audience is an escape. For those in it, not so much. But as much as porn can feel like a trap for those in it, really there are much larger forces trying to trap us all. It's a bad dangerous power structure that pushes people into porn, the drug trade, the military, sex work, and yes, even "legitimate" jobs with no security and no prospect of gaining wealth--in the name of the consumer, or the owner, or some shadowy general's power, or some stockholder's bottom line, or somebody's bid for control.
And DevilCorp owns the JesusStuff store.
(Oh, and I'm getting an ad for some "adult" something or other. Natch. ) |

This is dreadful. Partisanship this blatant does not make for good art.
Comic is basically:
Panel 1: setting
Panel 2: artist's opinion
Panel 3: strawman character disagreeing with artist's opinion
Panel 4: universe, as designed by the artist, declaring strawman character wrong/silly/intellectually dishonest
It's a puppet debate, with both sides being controlled by someone who wants to make their point and cares nothing about fair representation. There's not even a joke to it. |

Apropos of nothing, why is the thread called "Bacon Porn"? That term doesn't appear in the strip. Just curious. Thanks.
What would "Bacon Porn" be, anyway, nude women posing/"frolicking" in giant frying pans or on top of giant hamburger patties on a giant grill? That's probably out there somewhere... |

I just want to punch everyone who starts a thread for the daily strip but doesn't put the date in the title. I don't ask for much - I certainly don't get much from you bunch of assholes - all I want is to be able to ignore you misogynistic wankers for two or three days and then be able to pop in and catch up on the comic, in order, without reading anything you human failures write. But no. I have to click over to the main site and go through the archive because you can't figure out the convention that's been used for over a decade of putting the date in the title.
This comment may sound harsh, but it's just because you don't realize how truly, truly awful you are. I mean that in the nicest way possible.
