I hope the strips are building closer to a resolution of the arc or maybe the next step in it. I'd like to see some more character development in Slick, though maybe I'm just impatient. I could see this particular strip leading into more open conflict, if Slick actually tries to get an explanation from Monique which would then prepare Slick for a revelation of sorts. But hey, I'll see where it goes. I just hope this isn't one of those one-off things that every character forgets instantly.

I for one loved it!! I'm surprised to find it didn't appeal to more people! I think he's getting more deep in his jokes. First he set us all up with the Porn Script reading title with the standard introductory first panel. And after the let down ( Yes, it's not a typical porn take on some popular movie / theme), we get to see a new avatar of Squigley ( I LOOOOVED Sarah Piglin! Squee!!) and leaves us with a love tap on the cheek saying "Staying Classy" declaring his intent and indication. Maybe he isn't just changing his characters, but also trying to change his audience as well? Just a thought.

It'd be kind of cool to see this carry on a bit further. I want to see Slick talk to Monique and basically point out that things have changed. He still wants to be her friend (and more, of course, as his devil alter-ego points out) but they aren't even really close friends anymore. It's kind of sad. They are growing apart while Slick wants things to stay the way they were. Maybe the comic is not taking a feminist turn for the sake of being feminist. Maybe there is something deeper going on here, something more fundamental. I'm starting to see something along the lines of lost friendships, changed interests, and irreconcilable differences. In all honesty, if Slick dropped the macho persona, he'd be kind of bland. But with the way Monique is going, she is going to demand respect and Slick isn't going to give it to her.

Anyway, enough of that. Funny strip is funny. Can't wait for the next one, like always.
