Wow, this is so NOT what I was looking forward to for this Sunday's strip.
...
And just like that, I'm over it. |

It's interesting to think of Jesus & the Apostles as a bunch of guys graduating from school. _________________

I enjoy backstory~
Blue and Big D are getting pretty deep. Big D especially actually looks pretty cool in this. It's very strange. To decide whether what he did there was "Down with do-gooders" bad or comforting and good. 'Tis interesting. _________________ Have a Nice Day |

So, first of all, her blueness isn't a normal trait. All of the other kids had human skin colors.
Second of all, I don't think big D is being nice and comforting so much as gathering followers through whatever means possible. The fact that she's upset means that she's easier to tempt. _________________ www.shannahmcgill.tumblr.com |

I think, the blueness could mean several things.
Maybe her mood, or maybe that you only get color if you graduate, becoming a real human being. Or it could show how she feels different from the others, not feeling a part of them.
I like what this dude does. Its kind of a gesture of respect, showing her, that those grades don't determine her value and that he's not looking down on her. |

I don't really see too much Slick in him. I could see someone thinking that with the tie and all though.
The other reply on here about the devil gathering followers: it could be a possibility, but I imagine he was meant to be in her same class. An underlying theme with the devil is that he was never good enough, so I think in this case he failed along with Blue but had already come to terms with it.
Another thing is that this shows the devil has chosen to be bad and different on his own accord. Blue, however, wanted to fit in just like at one point in time and felt sorrow at not being good enough (perhaps like the devil as indicated in some earlier comics)? I wonder if she eventually winds up on the same path as Fushya? |

Hrrmmm I can't help wonder if a devil transformation is a one way street. We have seen people turn devil but we haven't seen them turn back (with the only exception when Jesus pops up but that barely lasted).
Also am I the only one who noted she had a D for harp? _________________ Sinfest Comments Bingo because we like Schadenfreude~ |

Its always nice to get some backstory, especially for Blue, digging it. She's a pretty important character but I doubt she will go the Fuysha route, just doesn't seem in her. Some of the best villains, have very sad backgrounds don't cha know.
Don't think the Devil is out to make followers, not at this point in his life.

I'd like to think of this as the start of an arc in which Blue follows in Fyoosh's footsteps, but I won't hold out too much hope. _________________

Aww. They're friends.
Wait, why the hell did D have a kid with whoever-lil'e's-mother-was? He could just gone with Blue. They would have had no such problems. _________________

First off, this story line clearly begs the question of who is Big D's mom? He's a kid in this arc, kids have parents, who are his?
Second, I'm seeing some compassion for someone he views as a victim as well as bad boy contempt for authority here, but not necessarily evil motivation. I think Blue and Big D have a long and involved back story.
One more thing, why don't their halos have little stems going down to the head like Seymour's does? |

They both predate the Hebrew Satan, and probably had influences on the creation of the idea. Maybe you could just say Sathariel was his father and pick one of the other Qliphoth to be his mother (from the Hebrew Kabbalah). Sathariel is not really Satan so that might work.
However, in mythology(apocrypha), typically he has no mother or father and was God's first -and most powerful- creation.
Lucifer, the Light Bringer, the Shining One, Morning Star, the First Light, and Angel of Fire. _________________ A MtG Webcomic
