Plenty! Neopaganism/wicca immediately comes to mind but there are loads of others that have been more influential.

I'm not sure religion in itself is a form of the Patriarchy...but rather that the Patriarchy would revel in using religion to propogate itself. Also there's elements of religion formed BY the "Patriarchy". Thought like Heretical Rants said, Abrahamistic religions are pretty much that way.
I think in this case, it was more to make a statement about "no gods" than to connect God from this strip with the Patriarchy. Not that it might not make that connection, but I feel that the Patriarchy of this world is more about something else, and her desire to not be controlled is strong, so she's obviously not going to be God's biggest fan. He's not really controlling in this universe, but he is kind of goof-off who enjoys taunting people.

The hand in the sky hasn't been showing up a lot lately
nor has Buddha or the dragon
This doesn't seem much different from a lot of the other hand-in-the-sky strips to me, except for it has a lot of Glossy's personality mixed into it

I think his point with religion over the years has been that it's okay to believe whatever you want to believe, but that many people miss the point of their own religions. (Seymore) Here, he's kind of decided to make a "deep" statement about the nature of the Reality Zone. It's not really a statement on religion though I think. But he has moved a different approach overall, indeed, with the lack of the deities showing up.

Well, uh. In one strip she road a legitimate motorcycle - and you've got to be at least somewhere around the ages of 16 to 18 to ride a motorcycle... added with the fact that she's got the same proportions that Nique, Slick, Crim and Li'l E all have in the reality zone... and they're all about 16 or older...
;)
