You know how hard it is to get a job with the devil? How it's easier to transfer within Devil Corps? Tell us more about what you know about a fictitious organization in a fictitious world with rules and consequences and even physics that are nothing like those of the real world (not that your point actually works in the real world, either, but I digress)! Tell me, what ARE the devil's rules for transferring between departments? Can you do it at any time, or do they make you wait until the end of a pay period? Do you transfer personal documents on your own, or does IT do it for you, or is their storage cloud based?

I'm still doubting the first statement. (there is also a big difference between the 'i know unemployment is at 8%' understanding and the 'i've been out of work while desperately needing a job' understanding.')
Regardless, it's normally quite hard to be transferred to a different department. If they hired you as a stripper I would expect it would be hard to convince them to transfer you to a not-retaliated-to-stripping position, open or not.
Additionally, we simply have no idea how many people applied for the position and/or how the new one was chosen. But we do know in RL you can't just do whatever you want.

if he took job satisfaction into account he'd probably have a much more functional organization, but given how he handled fuchsia's situation, he obviously doesn't

IDK, it's probably better to work for him than just being damned.

Not quite a joke, for this is probably how it often is.

Having nothing much to say about anything anyone else has posted, I'll expand on a previous theme from my own post.

Seriously, what, is she half-demon-from-another-belief-system or something?

Upon reflection, it occurred to me that the only belief system other than Christianity that has any noticeable presence in the strip at all is Buddhism. Anybody know much about Buddhism's stance on demons? If she had an antler horn, I'd theorize she was half-Devil Person, half-The Dragon -- how cool would that be? (then Seymour could dislike her for two reasons) -- but she doesn't.

Tat took the trouble of drawing her differently than he's drawn any other Devil Girl before or since, and he must've done that for a reason, he must've had something, however vague, in mind when he did that. He might have lost interest in it in the interim, of course, in which case, well, darn, then.

Indeed.

Say, I just thought of something tangentially-related. If Lil' E is the Devil's son... who's his mother? Shocked One of the devil girls (they needn't age the same way, after all)? A human? Does he even have a mother, or is this some sort of Athena-like male parthenogenesis or amoeba-like division? (Is Lil' E like a magical clone?) Hmmmmm...

cool study I remember reading about a while back and I just found it again. It was done in england by people at the university of leeds and they interviewed a bunch of strippers. Basically they found out that most of the stereotypes about strippers (poorly paid, abused people forced into it by need for money) aren't true. Here is the link to the sun's (yes, I know its a shite newspaper, but its shorter than reading the entire bloody study)

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3114238/Lap-dancers-not-just-pretty-faces.html

I think that sinfest tends to be highly uneducated about the sex industry in general, mostly just parroting a ton of stereotypes that fits the author's view. Note, I don't agree with the sex industry at all, but knowing the truth is important. The same thing applies to pornography, I am sorry but the whole "women forced to do it by the patriarchy" meme really is bull. Prostitution, I will not disagree at all, but Tat seems to avoid that strangely. I have represented enough prostitutes in court proceedings to know how much of a hellacious job that is and how much force is used, or at least used to be used a while ago, craigs list changed a lot of that. However, there are only really about 1200 active porn actresses at one time, if you are in the business its really because you choose to be. The jenna jameson book does reveal a lot of the negative side effects and I am not disputing that, but same with professional wrestling and other businesses like that even if the working conditions suck, there are so few people there and its so competitive, it seems strange to say its the only thing they can do or they are forced to turn to it.

If they needed a job, seems a lot easier to get a normal job than to enter into the industry. Or I am just a dudebro pig who doesn't *sniff* understand anyone.

additional links: (if you want to know why I have all of these, I always used researching sex and the sex industry as a way to distract myself back when I was unmarried and the temptation to have pre marital sex was too high, kind of have been keeping up with it for the past few decades, its really pretty fascinating.)

We've seen Li'l E's mother. several times. She's the white haired pretty lady. Does not appear to be a devil girl of any sort. As to whether or not she's human, though, is unspecified.

I think that she's the goddess Persephone but... there doesn't appear to be any particular reason* for that theory to be true. Others have theorized that she is Lilith, Eve, Mother Nature, or possibly Sophia.

* Except that she seems vaguely... Greek, in appearance, like, the way they drew their gods and goddesses back in the day, and D-man already has Cerberus...whom is also Greek... which would mean that he probably doubles as Hades since he also rules the underworld/hell. But that's not exactly a stellar reason for her to be Persephone. I mean, one assumption does not lead to another being true...
