Ah, I see! I haven't gotten so much into yaoi as the actual, heh, gay male equivalent, known as bara (yaoi being aimed at straight women, bara being aimed at gay men). More about the difference for those interested is here on good ol' Wikipedia.
...In comparison to yaoi, gay men's manga is unlikely to contain scenes of "uncontrollable weeping or long introspective pauses"...
