I think it's quite easy to understand why a christian finds this less offensive then someone else. A christian sees this thing and he'll know that this is indeed the way Jesus saved humanity, someone who know less about the subject will think this is just a cheap laughing with Jesus thing. |

I thought it over some more. It really boils down to the fact that I'm very spiritual about life and death, and don't like seeing either regarded with insouciance. The fact that Jesus died so violently and unnecessarily makes him worthy of more reverence than is displayed in the strip. _________________ fight |

i found one that didnt have it eritten on, and read all the comics up to the first one i could find tht did have it on, not there. so i read ALL the comics up to the first one that had it on, still not there... is it invisible??!?!!
EDIT: of course, 10 mins after posting, i find it....
they might not be my total favorites, but they were the only ones i can think of that someone else hasnt already done. (i did see a lot of good ones when looking for them, but ive forgoten them now.)
Tht is tats style, do so many good comics that people cant remember them all. _________________ This post may contain nuts!

C'mon, you're acting lame.
Makes, him, Worthy, of, Reverance?
You're as much a 'son' of god as our son of man;
Revere yourself, and everyone else...
(more or less, as you said really)
If you're gonna harsh my Tat buz, I'ma harsh your 'zealot' buz...
Tat gives us these stips. That's how he says what he says here.
If he didn't say it thorugh a strip. He wouldn't be sharing it with us.
(Unless he's been posting on the board without me knowing.)
He could have elaborated, but he went for something succinct.
I'd say it reads well enough for the man having possibly been blind-sided by fate.
The strip seems essentially daring to me.
Christ, maybe that's something crucial of Tat'spersonal expression of 'profound adoring awed respect'?
edit: um, sorry, I kinda shot from the hip with my initial response, and have been retrospectively editing and trying to tailor it better...
I'm hoping this doesn't read as overly offensive/antagonistic...
As for the fireman analogy:
wouldn't it be more fair for said fireman to be finally depicted crushed under a fallen timber having just barely brought the child from the building?

Jesus is like Tool. I like them both, but I abhor their respective fan clubs. |

To this whole Jesus thing you guys talk about:
i have an answer which probably would end all the talk if you just think about it for a minute: It's a comic
...on second thought, no, it won't end the talk...
Now something which defnietly won't end the talk, my personal opinion!
I'm something like a "Agnostic" too, even though i like to say that i have my own religion.(well, i know in what i believe, but i don't know what its called^^). However, lets assume jesus was real and was god's son or hero or whatever. What would Jesus want, now? Would he like for you to debate forever about this comic, or would he want you to LAUGH(or just be nice to your fellow internet fellows if you don't like the joke)?
Well, if he just want us to be happy, let's be happy. I bet he would be glad that his death gets a good laugh from some of us.
But if he doesn't want us to be happy because we aren't allowed to laugh about his death, then he can die how many times he want, i couldn't care less.
(btw. i have too many favourites to list them all here.^^) |

until the discussion isn't finished, time doesn't matter
so who carez if the discussion was 4 months ago? People still will read my post
Its like saying "jesus died 2000 years ago, you're a little late for believing in him now" |

Was there talking going on? I tend to think several months of no posting as "the talk has ended". |

It wasn't just that you were four months late, it's that you were four months late and seem to have misunderstood the development of the conversation.
There wasn't a huge debate you're now resolving. There wasn't a flamewar you're now dousing. We are not under attack by the Cavendish Gang, and you are not the Lone Ranger riding in to save our asses from an ambush.
Someone pointed out that she thought a particular strip was offensive. It was pointed out that it really wasn't. That's all. |
