I don't know either...I figured either way they might just be his own concept that stuck and he took it to meme levels.
I like how the desk seems more epic actually flying. Though for some reason flying furniture has become canon anyway thanks to Squig, so...

The flying furniture just means he's high. Tat might be referring to the fact that he loves his job so much that he gets a mental high from the feeling.
Squig just happens to use drugs to get high. Or in some cases the Buddah touch. |

Except in Squigs case it's been shown that he actually flies when he's high. I don't think this is the case here.

Actually, we don't know flying furniture means someone is high. We know when someone is high their furniture can fly, not that being high is the cause. It could be positive emotion (e.g., Tinkerbell telling Peter Pan to think happy thoughts), or something else entirely. Correlation isn't causation and such.
