That depends, are we talking well cared for old books, or moldy old books? |
I was thinking musty/moldy and in particular I was thinking of the used bookstore in my town. Ugh! _________________ Eureka00: "Reminding you of your addictions" since 1982.

Halen; is this an overactive imagination thing, a synesthesia-from-our-forum-handles-or-avatars thing, or just a distillation of memories from when you've met these people thing? _________________ (( Tiogshi Laj :: Average ASCII Artisan And Ambitiously Anachronistic Assonanteur ))

Interesting. I'm not sure what to make of that. If I had to put it in words, I would expect Halen to smell of fresh rain and hot tea. _________________ The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Hell, I can't describe smells. I think of smells in terms of color (though I have partially broke the habit through tasting a lot of beer).
Oil and autumn leaves... cute. So not true but cute (I smell like sweat much of the time ) _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

Carl Sandberg grew up in a time where you took the dead family member home, washed the body and dressed it and laid it out on the table or the sofa in the parlor. Where people had the corpses sitting up in chairs surrounded by family and photographed which might be the only photograph ever taken of that person. Death was a distressingly common event.
You live in a time where people with official jobs keep you away until the body is clean, embalmed, had makeup applied, and already been placed in the coffin. |
