I don't think this has anything to do with what she FEARS, this is what she IS. Even her "enlightenment" hasn't stopped her from breaking hearts (IE, Slick, though there's been a sad lack of significant interaction between them lately). |

Ever wonder why God let 'Nique eat the apple anyway, even though (at least in the Sinfest world) he has the power to stop her?
When God said "Don't eat it," he wasn't commanding her. He was helping her make a choice... hopefully the right one.

I agree that there should be more interaction between Slick and Monique.
As for what Monique is that is compicated. She has changed after being shown the patriarchy and she didn't want to be a slave to it. Now after eating the apple she is shown that what she used to do caused pain to other people too.
I mean, even if she was conditionied to act the way she used to (not unlike devil girls), she still broke some hearts. Devilnique could be her guilt about hurting others.
