The girlfriend/wife was the easiest. Bought her a house.
AS for me, I requested things to fix up said house. I need new tools, you know, some from this half of the last century. Most of my tools were my grandfathers.

You know what I really want for Christmas?
A puppy for my dog. He's so lonely, I feel awful for him. The look of sheer joy when he sees another dog on a walk only to have depression when their owner won't let them play. You can see it in his eyes. Heartbreak.

...That's one of the saddest things I've read in awhile. Geez. 
I'm not getting anyone anything and they're not getting me anything. Except, one friend wants to crochet me a scarf, so I told her I'd write her a sonnet.

awww - i hope your dog gets a puppy for christmas! why won't the other owners let their dogs play with him? he doesn't look like he's the type to suddenly try to rip their throats out (or to succeed, even if he tried). do you have a dog park near you, where he can play?

I usually give baked goods as a present, so I'm clear for that.
And I always post what I want on Facebook. Today's wishlist suggestion was these nifty knitting kits.
