The picture is wonderful, it is so "slice of life".
It is a small thing but it gives us a small look into the life of the Sisterhood. I can't exactly pout my finger on why, but for me it makes the characters more real.

I think a more appropriate description for these types of strips would be "A day in the life of ______"

That's right, it is a more appropriate desciption.
When done well this kind of strip really adds to a story. The sunday strip expanded format really helps too.
