Will Sweden stay a Social Democrat-state or will there be a Right-wing victory this year? Not to mention the fact that there's several smaller parties that has a chance of getting enough votes to enter the parliament.
It would be really interesting to see if the Pirates succeed.

Oh, I've been rooting for the Swedish Pirate Party since I first heard of them (which was when they debuted their darknet).

The polls so far: The Social Democrats have gotten most votes when you look at the numbers party by party. But on the whole it's looking like Sweden will have a Right-wing goverment the coming four years

I'm wondering exactly how 'right' a swedish right-wing party is, by American scale.

I'm betting they'd still be considered lefty in America since we're so hard to the AWE-some right. Just a guess, though.

I think one of my teachers said that if you looked at the big parties the Moderates are as right you get, and could be compared to the Democrats in the U.S.

and now it's really close. the left-wing have 173 chairs and the right wing have 176 chairs in the parliament. Worst case scenario is that the results will be uncertain until wednesday

Okay, Fredrik Reinfeldt just proclaimed himself as the winner when there's a hundred and fifty or so districts left who haven't revealed their numbers.
Looks like we'll have a new goverment

"Fredrik Reinfeldt" is a top-notch name for a villian. With a name like that, he should really be declaring himself emperor, or at least high thane.

If it means using the phrase "high thane" more often in everyday speech I would be completely behind the new government.

I'm sure someone asked this before, but aren't Swedish right wing members just pansy liberals, instead of hardcore, "we organise Blood and Honour parties" type, "We want all foreigners out of our fucking country" guys?

Sort of.. The "get the forigners out (unless they are rich and white)"-people is found in the marginalized parties such as Nationalsocialistisk Front and Sverigedemokraterna. Those are the guys I wouldn't want near a seat in the parliament

Sverigedemokraterna are the largest party outside of the riskdag, though.
